Endoscopic Brow Lift

As we age the brows can begin to droop creating an undesirable, tired appearance that can be corrected through a surgical procedure. An endoscopic brow lift can significantly improve unwanted sagging by opening the eyes and relieving the weight of the brows on the eyelids, as well as reducing the existence of creases between the brows and minimizing lines on the forehead. The intended result brings a fresh, well-rested look to the eyes and face.  This procedure can be combined with eyelid blepharoplasty surgery and/or a facelift to further restore the face to a more youthful appearance.  As with all facial cosmetic surgeries, a brow lift is custom tailored for each person to fit the other dimensions and characteristics of the face as well as brow shape.

How is the brow lift performed?

Also know as a forehead lift, the brow lift is a procedure that can often be performed under a local anesthesia with sedation. Four small incisions, each less than an inch, are made under or behind the hairline. From there the procedure is done endoscopically.  An endoscope is utilized via a camera to observe muscle and tissue beneath the skin. Next, the forehead skin is lifted and the underlying tissues are shifted or removed to achieve the desired result. In the process, the eyebrows may be raised to a higher position by sutures or temporary fixation devices.

What to expect during the recovery process?

After the procedure, it usually takes about ten days for initial recovery to begin which consists of the removal of sutures. Temporary bruising and swelling may result. You may cover the affected areas with makeup to mask the temporary bruising. Side effects may also include headaches or numbness.
