The “Lunch Break Facelift.” Safely Rejuvenating Your Look

There are many reasons that lines, sags and creases emerge in the skin. The major one is that gravity exerts pressure, pulling and stretching skin. It can make your skin look thinner and take volume away from the face.

More and more people unhappy with the appearance are turning to Juvederm, an injectable formula that fills lost volume in the face, creating a younger look.

What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is an approved application for correction of folds and wrinkles in the skin. Called a dermal filler, Juvederm is a gel injected into the skin. It can reduce the signs of aging and rejuvenates other areas, creating a younger and refreshed look in the face.

How Does Juvederm Work?

The primary ingredient in Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. Already native to the body, hyaluronic acid-infused Juvederm injections perform two basic tasks. (i) They fill in volume, reducing wrinkles. (ii) They promote the action and production of collagen in the body, resulting in a youthful glow. Filler molecules are gradually absorbed into the body. Additional volume will dissipate without regular injections. Depending on the facial area, Juvederm’s youthful results can last anywhere between 12 and 18 months.

The procedure is not only safe, it can be performed quickly. This has earned Juvederm the nickname “lunch break facelift.”

Are There Side Effects with Juvederm?

Juvederm has shown low instances of allergic reaction. The majority of Juvederm users have experienced no discomfort. Some users have experienced pain, redness, firmness of skin and swelling. There is also a risk of infection. It is important to perform your due diligence before undergoing any procedure, especially having a consultation with a medical professional before agreeing to treatment.

What Will Juvederm Do?

Skin ages differently, but there are several Juvederm products available. Each is a unique application. You can smooth away vertical, smile and lip lines. You can decrease loss of volume in the cheeks and restore volume to the lips. Juvederm injections can manage deep wrinkles around the mouth and nose. One version of Juvederm is used to safely increase the size of a patient’s lips, creating a fuller mouth without surgery. Typically, Juvederm treatments can take less than 15 minutes, and you will see results almost immediately.

If you want to know more about the Juvederm treatment and you’re in the New York City area, call Robert M. Schwarcz, MD, FACS, for a consultation.
